I know this isn't "wordless", but I am starting a new trend. Every Wednesday, I will post a picture that makes me happy. This week is an engagement picture taken by my good friend, Leah Muse of Whitney Lee Photography in Austin. I just love what she captured in this moment. Brilliant!
1. Multi-tasking:You cannot be in 10 different places at once. Having a coordinator is one of the best stress relieving things your can do for yourself and for your event.
2. Enjoy the Occasion: People always think that they will have time to do all of the last minute details. You won’t have time. Someone has to work on your event day and it shouldn’t be you!
3. Vendor recommendations: You will have access to your coordinator’s professional vendor recommendations. He or she will also help you interview and make the right choices for you, your event and your budget.
4. Contracts: Your planner will assist you with contract negotiations and ensure that all contracts are binding and legal.
5. Budget, Budget, Budget! The dreaded word- but one of the most important of the any event. A coordinator will help you develop a budget and stick to it!
6. Itinerary: Where is everyone supposed to be and when? A party planner develops a detailed itinerary for you and for your guests so everyone is clear on his or her responsibilities.
7. Advice: Offers advice as to etiquette and proper decorum for planning the event.
8. Handles Crisis Whether we like it or not, most big events involve crisis. Event planners know how to handle all unforeseen circumstances, without anyone else knowing it.
9. Event Management: Someone needs to coordinate all aspects of the day- set up, take down and any little emergencies that may arise. A coordinator’s job is to make everything about the day appear seamless and planned whether it was or not.
10. The details: Who is going to set up the tables?Who will handle the timing of the food? These and a thousand other details will be the responsibility of your coordinator.
